A day of networking, performances and talks , on the occasion of the unveiling of an Immersive room by Mouawad + Laurier

Metaverse, Omniverse, Web3, digital twin… the discourse surrounding these terms is meaningful for some, but opaque to the rest of the industry.

In The Metaverse is, on the one hand, the inauguration of an immersive room designed by Mouawad + Laurier, and on the other hand a series of talks between thinkers, philosophers, artists, technological and cultural players to demystify metaverses and their socio-economic, aesthetic, and political implications in France and internationally.

The intention of the event is to open a collective conversation, countering the rampant economic and transactional speculation surrounding these new digital spaces. The masterclasses, roundtables, and presentations are structured around three main editorial themes: What critical perspective should we take on the promises of the metaverse? Creating for the Metaverse: origins and perspectives; and Ethics and philosophy of virtual societies

To punctuate the masterclasses and roundtables, immersive literary readings were performed by Compagnie Fradin. Throughout the day, demonstrations of narrative projects in virtual reality were made available to the public thanks to a partnership with Pico Interactive. A dance and motion capture performance produced by Biborg and performed by Opera National de Paris dancer Hugo Vigliotti concluded the evening.
